Going Global Live

Wendy Smith, Senior Business Development Manager, shares her insights into the Going Global Live event that took place last month in London and how she thinks businesses should prepare to go global

Capita Translation and Interpreting (Capita TI) attended Going Global Live last month at London Olympia. The 2 day event was aimed at businesses looking to take their operations global and exhibitors were there to provide assistance in making this happen successfully.

In my capacity as a Senior Business Development Manager I attended Going Global Live with the aim of connecting with and assisting businesses that are focusing on going global and needing advice regarding their localisation strategy. Capita TI provides a range of services tailored to businesses looking to internationalise from translation to multilingual SEO and our expert advice in this field helps businesses every day in achieving internationalisation.

Kristine Berry, our Global Sales and Marketing Director, presented “Going Global – Above and Beyond” on the second day of the event. The key take away from this presentation was that it is not enough for businesses to translate their content when internationalising; localisation will help you in truly connecting with your customers and increasing your sales in a new market. This is where Capita TI can assist with their wealth of experience in guiding businesses through the stages of global localisation.

As well as the plethora of sweets and chocolates on our stand, we enticed delegates to our stand with our Capita Buzzwire Challenge. The aim was to get to the other side of the wire without touching the sides and setting the buzzer off. The winner completed this in a quick 22 seconds and won a Google Chromecast!

Overall, Going Global Live was a valuable event in helping businesses get the advice they need when looking to take their operations global.
